Linda found her perfect job at HaleyTek
Spend a few minutes in the company of our Delivery Manager Linda Hedenstedt and you’ll be smitten by her infectious enthusiasm for her role at HaleyTek and for life in general. However, Linda is way too modest to agree, saying that she is first and foremost a problem solver who just happens to have found her perfect job.
After graduating with an MSc from Umeå University in Sweden, Lindas’ path eventually led to HaleyTek after several years as a Product Owner at Volvo Cars. While she looks back with genuine fondness on this period of her career, Linda sees many positives in the contrasting size and organisational structure at HaleyTek -
“It’s a fact that HaleyTek is on a different scale than Volvo. Even though we’re growing fast, we’re a smaller, tight group and there’s real strength in that. We all know each other, and the personal feel here really motivates me. The size of the business also enables shorter decision-making channels, something I appreciate very much. Many companies make the claim, but we’re agile for real.”
On a day-to-day basis, the cultural diversity at HaleyTek has a profound effect on the atmosphere and character of the company. Linda describes lively conversations in the dining area and round the coffee machine where established ideas and perspectives are constantly challenged. However, it’s not just the ever increasing number of different nationalities at HaleyTek that contribute to this, as Linda is keen to emphasise -
“As a company, we’ve been committed to some core values since day one. Openness and diversity. Caring for the person and the talent. Creating the best possible environment for the individual to succeed and do the best job they can. Encouraging opinions and dialogue. All these ideas are not just empty words – we live by them, daily.”
Any young business faces many challenges, not least when it comes to establishing an internal identity and common purpose employees can rally around. Linda is convinced this is happening at HaleyTek -
“We’re creating processes as we’re growing. This is challenging and exciting in equal measures. But we’re also developing a way of thinking and working that I believe is quite rare in our industry. We see the person behind the developer. I love this and my role is all about making sure both the person and the developer are as happy as possible – to be honest, I think I’ve found my perfect job!”
